Grateful

01) one hella weekend with friends and family.
02) your uncanny ability to listen, or maybe you just hold the phone not really sure yet..
03) a song on my phone that I have saved and listen to once daily.
04) a new venue coming real soon. i kind of miss it.
05) very little sleep, but making it to the airport on time!
06) sisters who look and act so much alike they should be one person.. they are hilarious!
07) my ASL sister who taught me "no thank you fat ass!!!"
08) hanging at the relays and playing dominoes with my Dude and his fam... so happy you guys made it through it...
09) one hella tweety t-shirt! it was a sweet gesture.
10) finding my way back to my lane.. i swerved for a sec.
11) those brow eyes, they are both a sweetness and a weakness.
12) Larry Birkhead, and not my daddy is the father of Nicole's baby!
13) for having sense not to burn a building down because I didn't do my job! search misty weaver, if you haven't heard...

the weekend....

Booo.. Saturday's Texas Relay events were pretty much a wash. Yes, I was too chicken to go out there on Saturday with my hardcore track family as I needed to prepare for a trip... Yet I enjoyed Friday immensely, hanging my DUDE, B and his family. Playing dominoes until the wee hours of the morning, laughing, joking, talking mess, and discovering a tasty drink by accident! Saturday I hung close to the house, going to an Easter play, bowling and laughing again most of the night with my 'laws.
Sunday.. I'll write about it later.. It was great with the family and the 'laws as well. It was as always a good time..... Swept the table in some spades...... had a true moment well, it hurts and I'm pretty worried about it.....

fellowship of the wangs....

am so happy that i was able to see some of my girls on wednesday even if it was without poetry. not like i am going to start a new gratitude list or anything.. but damn... it was good to laugh about nothing, no one, everything and everyone. you know?

i won't go into their business, but i did check on my boys.. i am extremely worried about them both. i have seem them when others believed they were down. but people often underestimate his silence, and his overzealous exterior, they are tough men in a world of boys... hustle and b.. my heart's with you.

last night i didn't realize what the lapse in time would do... and hell, it jacked me up a bit. i received quite a few phone calls with people asking where the hell were we, and even someone colorfully stating, "it wouldn't shit in that lot but the parking lines." which i thought was hella funny.....

tomorrow, i am going to do one of the things i look forward to most all year... two days of track.. i pray the gods will allow us to have the same beautiful weather tomorrow and saturday....

April.. showers and thanks...

01) for the love in and of my life..... you are so incredibly easy to love.
02) for my girls... yes.. it gets better and stronger daily.
03) my job. YES, my job. it's so f'ing cool right now.. i have total autonomy.
04) not killing the biker... enough said.
05) talking to b... even if for a minute or two.
06) my gosh, just the loving look you give me every evening when you get home..
07) ohh, and for totally cooking dinner.. ha!
08) for telephone calls and messages.. i don't think we're suppose to laugh that much or hard at one time.. especially over totally nonsensical crap.
09) for hosting. yes, it feels good to know it's still just as easy...
10) for the phone call to mentor one of the young poets... circle sister circle.. write on! MO.. it's still magical each and every time.. just being able to be there for another young woman..
11) for lighting a fire under yer arsh... yes, you and you can do it, but first you have to believe...
12) for loving each and every part of me..
13) for the total ah ha moments that make you think and smile..

BONUS - for the subtle reminder that it was better than the right thing to do, i.e. cut all ties with you....

Extra Bonus - texas relays.. two days of absolutely nothing but races, races, races, parties, and friendship..... and did i say races?
